Terms and Conditions

1. Scope of application

These contractual principles shall apply to all services carried out by the Association for Continuing Education in Ophthalmology on the instructions of the client.
Exceptions to the General Terms and Conditions are only accepted, if particularly agreed between the Association for Continuing Education in Ophthalmology and the client.

2. Contract conclusion

a. Congress
As soon as we have received your congress registration and the transferal of the congress fee, the registrations is binding for both sides.

b. Book orders
The client ordering internet, e-mail, telephone, fax or other communication media will receive an order confirmation. At this point the contract is considered as concluded.

3. Delivery, Prices for book orders

The goods will be delivered as soon as possible to the customer's address specified in the order.

Delivery is performed at the particularly quoted delivery costs.

Taxes, fees, duties and other incidental expenses shall be borne by the customer.

These vary in different customs territories. The customer is responsible for the orderly payment of the necessary duties and fees. Import duties are not shipping costs.

Switzerland CHF 7.-  
Europe CHF 18.50 € 16.-
Other countries CHF 24.- € 21.-

4. Prices for congress and books

Prices shall be quoted in Swiss Francs (CHF) and Euro (€) exclusive VAT. The Association for Continuing Education in Ophthalmology is not liable to VAT.

5. Payment terms

We only accept the methods of payment quoted to the client in the course of the respective order transaction.

a. Congress
The registration fee shall be due right after the registration. The registration will be binding for both parties upon payment receipt which finally guarantees your regis-tration.

b. Book order
Payment including delivery costs will be due by contract conclusion. The order will be executed after payment receipt.

6. Right of withdrawal

a. Congress
If the congress is not to be taken place, the full registration fee will be refunded. In case of annulation from the customer’s side within the quoted time period in the programme, the registration fee exclusive of CHF 50.- administration fee will be re-funded. Beyond this time period, there will be no refund.

b. Purchase of books
Following delivery of the goods, the customer is entitled to return the goods without indication of any reason within 14 days after delivery in intact and unopened condi-tion. The time limit starts upon the day of arrival of the goods at the customer.
The burden of proof for despatch of the returned goods is incumbent upon the cus-tomer. He also bears the cost and risk for the return despatch, excepted the case, the delivered goods do not comply with the ordered goods.

7. Warranty/Liability

a. Book order
In the event of delivery of damaged books or wrong delivery, the Association for Continuing Education in Ophthalmology will initiate replacement delivery. By failure of replacement delivery, the customer is entitled to withdraw his order. The right to request improvement shall become void, if the customer does not report damage or wrong delivery within 14 days after receipt of the goods in writing.

8. Data privacy

Important data for business transactions will be saved under strict consideration of legal requirements and will only be forwarded to other companies for purposes of handling of order and payment. All personal data will be handled strictly confidential-ly. The Association for Continuing Education in Ophthalmology is entitled to transmit personal data for the purposes of credit check and credit assessment to connected companies in line with data exchange.

9. Place of performance and jurisdiction

a. Applicable law
In case of discrepancies and conflicts the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) shall ap-ply.

b. Place of Performance is Basel
